UKA coordinates project freight around the cargo, available equipment and delivery sequence. Heavy haul, oversized work, flatbed/step deck, and transload or storage may form part of the inland plan.
Start with the project requirements
A project request should include the cargo list, dimensions and weights, origin and destination sites, loading/unloading arrangements, and delivery sequence. Tell us which dates are fixed and which depend on another shipment stage.
Connect containers, storage and delivery
If the cargo arrives in an import container, we can discuss the drayage, transload or warehouse stage and onward transportation. UKA’s strength is the inland operation and the handoffs between those stages.
Equipment and partner scope
Chicago is our core asset-based market, with company tractors and private chassis capacity. For nationwide and out-of-market work, we also use our established carrier and partner network. Equipment and service arrangements are confirmed for each shipment.
The specific equipment, route, permits if needed, and handling arrangements are established for the project. We are not an airline, ocean carrier or NVOCC, and we do not claim to act as a customs broker.
Special cargo acceptance
Hazmat or other specialized freight is subject to the commodity, documentation, equipment, driver qualifications, and UKA approval. We do not broadly offer every hazardous-material class. Refrigerated or temperature-controlled transportation is not advertised as a core UKA service.
Questions about this service
What should I include in a project quote?
Cargo dimensions/weights, the loading method, site restrictions, dates and delivery sequence. Flag any out-of-gauge or hazardous commodity at the start.
Can UKA connect container pickup with a project delivery?
Yes. Drayage, transload/warehousing and onward transport can be planned around the cargo and site requirements.
Does project forwarding include ocean or air carriage?
This page describes UKA’s inland/project transportation scope. Airline, ocean-carrier, NVOCC and customs-broker roles are not UKA operations.
Request a quote with the pickup and delivery locations, cargo details, and required dates. For container work, include the ramp or terminal, container size, loaded weight, availability, last free day if known, and receiving appointment requirements.
