UKA supports flatbed, step deck, heavy haul and oversized/project freight. Specialized transportation starts with the load specification and equipment review—not a blanket promise to carry any cargo.
Describe the load before choosing the equipment
Send the overall length, width, height and weight, along with the commodity and loading/unloading method. For equipment or project cargo, photographs and drawings can help the team assess the move; provide them directly when requested.
- Flatbed and step deck transportation.
- Heavy haul and oversized loads reviewed by project.
- Transload, storage and onward transportation where needed.
Confirm the plan and capacity
Chicago is our core asset-based market, with company tractors and private chassis capacity. For nationwide and out-of-market work, we also use our established carrier and partner network. Equipment and service arrangements are confirmed for each shipment.
Routing, equipment suitability, permits where applicable, site restrictions and any additional support must be established for the load. We do not publish a single weight or dimension limit that applies to every move.
Hazmat is commodity-specific
Hazmat or other specialized freight is subject to the commodity, documentation, equipment, driver qualifications, and UKA approval. We do not broadly offer every hazardous-material class. Refrigerated or temperature-controlled transportation is not advertised as a core UKA service.
Provide the commodity, hazard classification and required shipping documentation for review. Acceptance depends on qualified drivers and suitable equipment; prior experience does not mean every hazmat request can be accepted.
Questions about this service
Do you support flatbed and step deck freight?
Yes. Flatbed and step deck are owner-confirmed capabilities. Share the load dimensions, weight and loading method to establish the right arrangement.
Can you handle oversized or heavy project cargo?
UKA handles heavy haul and oversized/project freight subject to an individual equipment and movement review. Do not assume availability or permitting from a general service listing.
Are all hazmat classes accepted?
Hazmat or other specialized freight is subject to the commodity, documentation, equipment, driver qualifications, and UKA approval. We do not broadly offer every hazardous-material class. Refrigerated or temperature-controlled transportation is not advertised as a core UKA service.
