UKA handles the inland side of ocean freight: port and rail drayage, container transportation, transloading, warehousing, and delivery to the inland destination. We are not an ocean carrier, airline or NVOCC.
Import and export container transportation
Our strongest direct operation is Chicago intermodal, where company tractors and private chassis connect rail ramps with receivers, transload and storage. We handle 20-foot, 40-foot and 40-foot high-cube containers, including pre-pulls, live unloads, drop & hook and empty returns.
Port markets and the inland leg
Confirmed service markets include Charleston and Los Angeles/Long Beach, alongside other listed UKA markets. Out-of-market work also uses our established carrier and partner network. A service-market listing does not imply a UKA-owned port terminal or a company fleet in that city.
Scope and responsibility
We do not present UKA as the vessel operator, NVOCC or customs broker. Provide terminal availability/release information and the inland delivery requirements so we can establish the ground move. Ocean booking and customs requirements should be handled with the responsible provider.
Transload, storage and final delivery
If container freight needs storage or transfer into domestic equipment, tell us the cargo count, packaging, dimensions, weight, destination and expected timing. We can discuss the warehouse/transload stage and onward capacity together.
Questions about this service
Does UKA operate vessels or act as an NVOCC?
No. UKA provides inland transportation capability, including drayage, container transport, transload, warehousing and onward delivery.
Which container sizes do you handle?
20-foot, 40-foot and 40-foot high-cube containers are confirmed. Commodity, loaded weight, release status and receiving requirements must be included in the quote request.
Can UKA coordinate empty returns and chassis moves?
Yes. Empty returns, chassis moves/splits and private chassis capacity are part of our Chicago intermodal operation.
Do you guarantee customs clearance?
No. We do not claim to act as a customs broker or guarantee clearance. Cargo release and the responsible provider’s instructions are inputs to the inland transport plan.
Request a quote with the pickup and delivery locations, cargo details, and required dates. For container work, include the ramp or terminal, container size, loaded weight, availability, last free day if known, and receiving appointment requirements.
